Each square is a container. The clipboard fills one box at a time, stopping to write each number down. QBoss fills each stretch of the row as the truck drives past, reading a whole stack at once.
Time saved: 8 h 50 min a week, 459 h 16 min a year. About 7.5× faster per check.
Assumes containers about 30 ft apart in rows of 50, a manual check in a slow truck (5 mph) stopping about 10 s to write each number, driving 15 mph while QBoss reads the boxes it passes (a whole stack in one pass), and 30 s to turn at the end of each row for both. QBoss reads a container number in about 0.4 s (median); a person writes one down in about 10 s.
